Starfield отказывается от жестокости и расчленения

Изначально Bethesda планировала включить в Starfield элементы геймплея с кровавыми сценами и расчленением, но технические ограничения в итоге вынудили отказаться от этой идеи.

Деннис Мехильонес, бывший художник по персонажам, работавший над The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 4 и Starfield, объяснил в интервью Kiwi Talkz, что сложность скафандров сделала эту функцию нереализуемой.

«Технические проблемы, связанные с разнообразными дизайнами скафандров, стали непреодолимыми, — отметил он. — Для каждого скафандра требовались особые проработки расчленения: шлемы нуждались в точных точках разреза, оторванные конечности требовали заглушек из плоти и так далее.»

«Мы разработали системы для обработки этих механик, но они создали неустойчивую паутину зависимостей. Развивающиеся опции создания персонажа усугубляли эти проблемы, особенно со сложными дизайнами шлемов, включающими шланги и регулируемые пропорции тела.»

Хотя некоторые игроки выразили разочарование по поводу отсутствия в Starfield фирменных кровавых механик Fallout 4, Мехильонес заявил, что они лучше подходят мрачно-комедийному тону Fallout: «Эта брутальная насилие дополняет своеобразный юмор Fallout — это фундаментальная часть игрового опыта.»

С момента запуска в сентябре 2023 года Starfield привлекла более 15 миллионов игроков, несмотря на первоначальную критику.
