inZOI Sells 1 Million Copies in Week, Krafton Eyes Long-Term Franchise

Krafton's latest venture, inZOI, has achieved a remarkable feat by selling 1 million copies within just one week of its Early Access launch on Steam. This milestone marks the fastest sales achievement for any game published by the South Korean giant, showcasing the immense popularity and demand for this title.

Launched on March 28, inZOI quickly made headlines, not just for its sales but also due to an unexpected glitch that allowed players to harm children in the game. Krafton swiftly addressed this issue, labeling it an "unintended bug" and promptly releasing a patch to rectify the situation. Despite this initial hiccup, inZOI has maintained a 'very positive' user review rating on Steam and reached a peak of 175,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, securing the third spot in the Games category. Within just 40 minutes of its release, inZOI soared to the top of Steam's Global Top Sellers List by sales revenue.

The game's integrated user-generated content platform, Canvas, also saw significant engagement, with over 1.2 million participants and more than 470,000 pieces of content uploaded on launch day. This level of community involvement highlights the game's appeal and the creativity it inspires among players.

IGN's Early Access review of inZOI awarded it a 6/10, praising its visual appeal and ambitious scope but noting a lack of depth at launch. Krafton credits its successful launch to proactive community engagement and promotion efforts, including a global showcase and demo build that garnered substantial interest.

CEO CH Kim expressed gratitude and excitement about introducing inZOI to a global audience, emphasizing the company's commitment to ongoing communication with players and nurturing inZOI as a long-term franchise IP.

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to roll out future updates with new content, including mod support and new cities. All updates and DLC will be free until the game's full release, demonstrating Krafton's dedication to enhancing the player experience. In response to player feedback, Krafton has committed to applying quick fixes through hotfixes in April, acknowledging the scale of inZOI's global community as a "next-level experience" and the ongoing adjustments in communication strategies.
