Во время отчета о доходах 25 июля генеральный директор Фредрик Вестер дал честную оценку недавним трудностям Paradox Interactive, одновременно отмечая успехи. Life by You представлял собой амбициозную попытку Paradox диверсифицироваться за пределы своей оплота стратегических игр, выйдя в жанр жизненного симулятора. После выделения почти 20 миллионов долларов на затраты на разработку компания в итоге отменила запланированный выпуск 17 июня. Решение последовало после разочаровывающих оценок готовности и качества игры.

Усугубляя эти трудности, Cities: Skylines 2 вышла с проблемами технической производительности, а Prison Architect 2 столкнулась с многократными задержками, несмотря на получение платформенной сертификации. Эти вызовы побудили к тщательному пересмотру процессов разработки и подходов к управлению проектами.

Вестер подчеркнул, что, сталкиваясь с этими проблемами, основные стратегические тайтлы Paradox — включая Crusader Kings и Stellaris — продолжают демонстрировать стабильные результаты. «Эти надежные франшизы обеспечивают финансовую стабильность, которая позволяет нам учиться на своих ошибках», — отметил он.
