Адаптация выживших вампиров от видеоигры к фильму представляет уникальные проблемы для разработчика Poncle. Первоначально проект, задуманный как анимационный сериал, теперь является живым боевым фильмом в разработке с Story Kitchen. Основным препятствием, как признает Понкл в недавнем паровом посте, является неотъемлемое отсутствие повествования в игре.

«В игре нет сюжета»,-заявил Понкл, подчеркивая творческие сложности, связанные с переводом основного игрового опыта-механически простого, но интенсивно привлекательного орды-батлера-в убедительный кинематографический повествование.
