"Blades of Fire: Unveiling New Insights"

The developers at MercurySteam, alumni of Rebel Act Studios, have brought their experience from the cult classic game Severance: Blade of Darkness to their latest project. Released back in 2001, Severance was renowned for its groundbreaking combat system that allowed players to sever enemies' limbs, adding a layer of brutality and realism to the gameplay. This game served as a major source of inspiration for MercurySteam's new team.

While drawing from their past, the team also looked to modern action-adventure titles for inspiration. Notably, they were influenced by the cinematic combat and richly detailed world of the God of War reboot by Santa Monica Studio. MercurySteam's goal was to blend fast-paced action with RPG elements, crafting an engaging and immersive gaming experience that stands out in today's market.

A standout feature in Blades of Fire is its unique weapon crafting system. Players will have the opportunity to forge their own blades, customizing aspects such as length, weight, durability, and balance. This system enables players to tailor their weapons to match their preferred combat style, adding a personalized touch to the gameplay.

The narrative of Blades of Fire follows the journey of warrior Aran de Lira, who embarks on a quest against a cunning queen with the power to turn metal into stone. Throughout his adventure, Aran will encounter 50 different types of enemies, each demanding a unique strategy to defeat.

Blades of Fire is set to launch on May 22, 2025, and will be available on PC (via the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series, and PS5, offering players across multiple platforms the chance to dive into this thrilling new world.
