Der ehemalige PlayStation -Manager Shuhei Yoshida hat kürzlich Einblicke in seine Erfahrungen mit dem unveröffentlichten Nintendo PlayStation -Prototyp geteilt, einschließlich des Spielens eines fast abgeschlossenen Spiels für die abgesagte Konsole.

In einem Minnmax -Interview erzählte Yoshida seine Karriere bei Sony, beginnend mit seiner frühen Arbeit zusammen mit Ken Kutaragi, dem "Vater der Playstation". Zu Kutaragis Team im Februar 1993 wurden Yoshida und andere neue Rekruten in den Nintendo PlayStation -Prototypen eingeführt. Yoshida betonte, dass dies ein funktionaler Prototyp mit einem fast fertiggestellten Spiel war.

"Alle, die zu dieser Zeit zu Ken Kutaragis Team beigetreten sind, sah zuerst den Nintendo Sony PlayStation Prototype - es war bereits funktioniert", erklärte Yoshida. "Sie hatten sogar ein fast fertiges Spiel. Ich habe es genau am Tag gespielt, an dem ich beigetreten bin."

Das Spiel selbst ähnelte einem zeitgenössischen Weltraumschützen, der möglicherweise ähnlich wie bei Sega CDs Silpheed ähnelte, wobei CD-basierte Asset-Streaming verwendet wurde. Yoshida konnte sich nicht an die Identität des Entwicklers oder den Ursprung des Spiels (USA oder Japan) erinnern. In Bezug auf das potenzielle Überleben des Spiels in den Archiven von Sony drückte er jedoch Optimismus aus.

"Ich würde mich nicht wundern", kommentierte Yoshida. "Es war auf einer CD, also ... ja."

Die Nintendo PlayStation bleibt ein sehr gefragtes Collector-Gegenstand, vor allem aufgrund seines unveröffentlichten Status und des faszinierenden "Was-wäre-wenn" -Szenario, das er für Nintendo und Sony darstellt. Der Prototyp ist häufig in Auktionen und bei Sammlern aufgetreten.

Die Aussicht auf diesen von Sony entwickelten Weltraumschützen, der das Licht des Tages sieht, ist verlockend und nicht ganz beispiellos.
