Tiled Map Editor for Designing 2D Games
TMEditor is a free tool that simplifies the creation of map layouts. It's versatile enough to define abstract elements like collision zones, enemy spawn points, and power-up locations. All this information is stored in a standardized .tmx format for easy access.
How Does TMEditor Work?
The fundamental process for designing maps with TMEditor involves these key steps:
1. Select your map dimensions and base tile size.
2. Import tilesets from image files.
3. Arrange tilesets across your map.
4. Include additional objects to represent abstract elements.
4. Export the map as a TMX file.
5. Import the TMX file and integrate it into your game.
