Sunset Hills: A Veteran Dog

Sunset Hills is a new Android puzzle experience from Cottongame, the studio behind Reviver and Mr. Pumpkin Adventure. True to their signature style, the game unfolds in a gently rendered world painted in soft pastels. This universe is populated by historic urban architecture, anthropomorphic dogs, and deeply touching narratives.

Join Nico, a War Veteran, on His Personal Journey

In Sunset Hills, you step into the shoes of Nico Grant, a published novelist and former soldier. The story begins in June 794, as he boards a train to reunite with his old army comrades.

Seven years have passed since the war's end, yet an inner compulsion drives him to seek them out. The friends he aims to visit are Ferruccio, Doug, and Roy.

The narrative carefully unravels layers of emotion and memory. As a child, Nico was a quiet boy, more captivated by books than by company, and often adrift in his own thoughts.

Like so many others, he was swept into the war. His slight build and unique nature made him a target for bullying and often left him isolated, struggling to keep pace. He discovered solace and a means of expression through writing.

A small notebook became his private refuge. Ironically, this very notebook later served as the foundation for bonds with his squadmates. Initial teasing gradually transformed into profound friendships that endured long after the fighting stopped.

Now an established author, Nico's pilgrimage carries him by rail through various cities and nations. Each stop immerses you in pivotal moments, seamlessly blending storytelling with environmental puzzles.

Sunset Hills Explores the Peculiarities of Post-War Life

This point-and-click adventure places a strong emphasis on dialogue. You'll gather vital clues from conversations, collect and combine objects, and deduce how different elements interconnect.

Puzzles range from locating specific items and assisting townsfolk to resolving minor offenses and evading pursuers. You'll also find yourself mending garments, baking bread, and even performing with a musical troupe.

The game's visual charm lies in its blend of hand-drawn artwork and 3D scenes. The architecture, inspired by the Victorian era, adds a distinctive and enchanting quality. You can see the world for yourself in the trailer below.

Sunset Hills is available for download on the Google Play Store if you wish to experience it.
