Split Fiction Streamers Earn A Trip to Hazelight Studios After Completing Secret Stage

Split Fiction Streamers Discover and Conquer Laser Hell, Earning a Trip to Hazelight Studios

Dive into the thrilling world of Split Fiction, where players have been uncovering hidden challenges since its successful launch last month. The latest buzz centers around the secret "Laser Hell" stage, a notoriously tough level that has now been conquered by a pair of dedicated streamers, earning them a unique reward.

First Players to Finish "Laser Hell" Challenge Earn a Trip to Hazelight Studios

Chinese streamers sharkOvO and E1uM4y recently shared their triumph over the Laser Hell challenge on BiliBili. To reach this stage, players must correctly input a specific sequence of switches on the elevator in the Isolation level, leading them to a platform stage filled with lasers. Their achievement unlocked a congratulatory video from Hazelight Founder Josef Fares, who revealed that even most of the development team struggled with the level. Fares then extended an invitation to the duo to visit Hazelight Studios in Sweden.

Not long after the video surfaced, Fares took to Twitter (X) on March 19 to commend the streamers, stating, "Congrats to 'sharkOvO' and 'E1uM4y' for finishing the secret challenge 'Laser Hell' in #splitficton. VERY impressive! I will keep my promise and invite you both to Sweden for an early look at our next game. We'll be in touch!"

In a recent interview with The Friends Per Second podcast on March 17, Josef Fares discussed Hazelight's ongoing relationship with publisher EA and hinted at their next project. Fares expressed that Split Fiction, while special and the best-received game from Hazelight, is now behind them as the team shifts focus to new endeavors.

Although Fares remained tight-lipped about specifics of the new game, he mentioned that Hazelight typically works on projects for three to four years. "We are very, very, very, very excited here," he said, indicating that the new project is still in its early stages, having started about a month ago.

Fares also praised EA's supportive role, stating, "EA is a supporter. We don’t pitch games to them. We say, ‘We’re going to do this.’ That’s it. They have zero, and I mean zero, thing to say about what we’re doing next." He emphasized the positive relationship between Hazelight and EA, noting that despite mixed perceptions of the publisher, EA respects Hazelight's autonomy and creative process.
