Marvel Rivals' upcoming Season 2 will introduce an innovative experimental feature designed to enhance the game's stability and optimize memory usage. Dive in to discover more about this feature, as well as the exciting events and updates lined up for the game.
NetEase is set to roll out a groundbreaking experimental feature aimed at boosting Marvel Rivals' stability and reducing its memory footprint. Announced via a Twitter (X) post on April 30, Marvel Rivals unveiled the upcoming Switch Shader Compilation Mode, poised to elevate the gaming experience, particularly for players with lower RAM or those experiencing FPS issues.
In a detailed blog post on their official website, Marvel Rivals addressed the performance concerns players have raised about stutters and crashes due to high memory consumption during gameplay.
The blog states, "To tackle memory overload, we're introducing an experimental feature in Season 2: the Switch Shader Compilation Mode. With the Season 2 update, players can activate this feature through the PC launcher." This feature is particularly recommended for those with 16GB of RAM or less.
When enabled, the game will see significant improvements:
However, the developers have noted some potential issues with this feature. For instance, at the start of each match, some materials may render abnormally for a few frames before returning to normal. Additionally, there might be some initial stutters, though these should resolve quickly, allowing for a smooth gameplay experience for the remainder of the match.
Kickstarting Season 2, Marvel Rivals will launch a new Twitch Drops campaign from April 11 at 12:00 UTC to April 30 at 23:59 UTC. To claim the exclusive rewards, players need to link their Marvel Rivals accounts with their Twitch accounts and watch any Marvel Rivals streams with Drops enabled.
The rewards are tiered based on the duration of watching Marvel Rivals streams. The available rewards include:
In their latest Dev Vision, Marvel Rivals gave fans a sneak peek into Season 2's Hellfire Gala and announced plans to shorten season durations with the introduction of one new hero each month.
Marvel Rivals is gearing up for maintenance ahead of the Season 2 launch, scheduled to begin on April 11 at 9:00 UTC and last approximately 2 to 3 hours.
This patch will introduce Emma Frost as a new playable character, complete with her X-Revolution and Blue Sapphire skins. Additionally, players can explore a new Domination map, Hellfire Gala: Krakoa, and unlock a new battle pass featuring 10 brand new sets of heroic costumes.
Marvel Rivals is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay updated with the latest on Marvel Rivals by checking out our article below!
