Lego Sets Hint at Mobs in Jack Black's Minecraft Movie

Lego has unveiled an exciting new line of sets inspired by the upcoming live-action film, *A Minecraft Movie*, starring Jack Black as Steve. These sets provide a sneak peek into the film's characters and plot, featuring some of the iconic mobs from the Minecraft universe.

As reported by Games Radar, two sets have been announced so far: the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack. These sets will complement the existing range of Minecraft Lego sets but come with unique figures such as Jack Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's character, The Garbage Man.

The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring, priced at $49.99 with 491 pieces, hints at an epic gladiator-style battle scene in the movie. The set showcases Momoa's character engaged in combat with a zombie riding a giant chicken, which appears to be roughly twice the size of The Garbage Man. It's not clear if this represents a baby zombie on a normal-sized chicken or if it's meant to be scaled differently. Alongside the fighting ring, the set includes figures of Steve, his friend Henry, and a giant zombie pigman, as well as a chest filled with gold and a small viewing stand equipped with weapons.

The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set, priced at $69.99 with 555 pieces, indicates that the film will feature the Nether's famous Ghast in a dramatic village battle scene set in the overworld. This set includes minifigures of Steve, Natalie, Dawn, a village resident, two piglins, and an iron golem, setting the stage for an action-packed confrontation.

Both sets are scheduled to hit the market on March 1, just a month before *A Minecraft Movie* premieres in theaters on April 4.

The film's official reveal in September sparked immediate criticism from fans, particularly regarding the visual contrast between the live-action characters and the CGI-generated Minecraft world. One fan went as far as recreating the trailer in a fully animated format. In response to the backlash, the director and producer, in an interview with IGN in November, acknowledged the feedback but assured fans that they were prepared for any challenges ahead.
