Bob Gale, the screenwriter behind the beloved Back to the Future trilogy, has put an end to any speculation about the franchise's future. Despite ongoing rumors fueled by the success of projects like the Cobra Kai series, Gale firmly stated that there will be "never" another Back to the Future movie, prequel, or spin-off.

In an interview with People, Gale expressed his frustration with the persistent questions about the franchise's revival. "I don't know why they keep talking about that!" he exclaimed. "I mean, do they think that if they say it enough times, we're going to actually do it?" He emphasized that the trilogy is complete and should remain untouched, echoing director Robert Zemeckis's sentiment that the films are "perfect enough."

While Gale's stance is clear, he acknowledges the power of Hollywood to potentially override his wishes. However, he noted that any revival would also require the approval of executive producer Steven Spielberg, who has historically supported the decision to leave the franchise untouched. Gale humorously remarked that only extreme circumstances, such as threats to their families, would change their minds. He also praised Spielberg for respecting their desire to not produce more Back to the Future content, likening it to Spielberg's refusal to allow another E.T. movie.

Gale's sentiments align with his previous statements, including a blunt message to fans in February, where he responded to inquiries about a potential Back to the Future 4 with, "People always say, 'When are you going to do Back to the Future 4?' And we say, 'F**k you.'"

The original Back to the Future film, released in 1985, follows high school student Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) as he is accidentally sent back in time by the eccentric scientist Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd). This iconic sci-fi film, along with its two sequels, has cemented its place in cinematic history.
