Classic DOOM and DOOM 2 Updated

Enthusiasts of the classic DOOM series have found themselves revisiting the originals while eagerly awaiting the release of DOOM: The Dark Ages. Recently, the compilation featuring DOOM and DOOM II received an update, enhancing both the technical and gameplay aspects. Multiplayer modifications are now supported, requiring mods to be crafted using Vanilla DOOM, DeHackEd, MBF21, or BOOM for compatibility. In cooperative play, all players can now collect items, and an observer mode has been introduced for deceased players waiting to respawn. Network code optimization and expanded mod loader capabilities were also part of the update.

Looking ahead to DOOM: The Dark Ages, players will enjoy greater control over the game's mechanics. Aggression levels of demons can be adjusted in the settings, and the team behind the game is committed to making it as accessible as possible. Marty Stratton, the executive producer, highlighted the extensive customization options available, allowing players to tweak enemy damage, projectile speed, health thresholds, and other gameplay elements. Importantly, newcomers to the franchise will find the storyline of DOOM: The Dark Ages easy to follow, even without prior experience with DOOM: Eternal.
