Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. Initially, elements provided character buffs and enemy resistances, lacking deep interaction. Version 2.0 introduces Elemental Effects, allowing for more direct interactions beyond passive buffs.

Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs:

While some elemental effects existed previously (e.g., Glacio's freeze), Version 2.0 expands this mechanic. Each element now has a unique status effect:

Elemental Effect	Effect Description
Havoc Bane	Stacks periodically, up to 2. At 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters.
Glacio Chafe	Reduces movement speed per stack, freezing at 10 stacks. Players can "Struggle" to speed up thawing.
Spectro Frazzle	Stacks decrease to deal Spectro DMG over time. More stacks = more DMG.
Fusion Burst	Stacks up to 10, exploding at max stacks for significant Fusion DMG.
Aero Erosion	Deals Aero DMG periodically; stacks don't deplete to deal damage. More stacks = more DMG over time.
Electro Flare	Reduces ATK based on stacks (1-4: -5%; 5-9: -7% + Magnetized effect; 10: -10%).

Dodging removes all effect stacks.

Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets:

Currently, Elemental Effect utilization is limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets interact with these effects:

Spectro Rover: Post-Version 2.0 rework, Spectro Rover uniquely applies Spectro Frazzle (2 stacks) via its Resonating Spin Resonance Skill. This skill also applies a Shimmer effect, preventing stack decay, allowing for sustained Spectro Frazzle buildup.

Echoes and Echo Sets:

Echo Set - Eternal Radiance: 2-piece bonus: +10% Spectro DMG. 5-piece bonus: Spectro Frazzle inflicts increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s; 10 stacks grant a 15% Spectro DMG bonus for 15s.
Echo - Nightmare: Mourning Aix attacks deal 273.60% Spectro DMG. DMG against Spectro Frazzle-affected enemies is increased by 100%. The equipped Resonator gains a 12% Spectro DMG bonus.

While currently niche, the integration of Elemental Effects suggests a potential shift towards more active utilization in future Wuthering Waves updates.
