Assetto Corsa EVO Rips Onto the Track Today

Mark your calendars, racing game aficionados! January 16th, 2025, marks a significant date for fans of realistic driving simulations. Kunos Simulazioni Studios is launching Assetto Corsa EVO into Steam Early Access.

The initial release will feature a robust selection of 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in Early Access, expect highly refined physics, precise handling, and remarkably realistic car behavior.

A standout feature will be the free-roam mode, offering unparalleled freedom. A substantial summer 2025 update is planned, introducing the breathtaking, laser-scanned open-world environment surrounding the legendary Nürburgring. This expansive map will initially cover a massive 1600 square kilometers, with further expansions promised.

Assetto Corsa EVO boldly positions itself as a premier driving simulator, aiming to rival established titans like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. This ambition is backed by claims of photorealistic visuals and cutting-edge physics.

The full game, upon its eventual release, is projected to include 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with continuous free content updates planned. Each circuit will boast incredibly accurate detail, simulating effects like tire wear and wet surfaces, while animated spectators will enhance the immersive atmosphere.

Developers have also refined vehicle dynamics, suspension, and shock absorption. Early Access will include the Driving Academy mode, challenging players to complete specified tracks within time limits to earn a license unlocking access to the most prestigious vehicles. This mode is intended to be a significant single-player component of the Early Access experience.
