Set in a Seaside Village in the Continent

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Comes February

*The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep* will make its debut on Netflix, as announced by Netflix Tudum. This animated film draws its inspiration from the short story "A Little Sacrifice" by Andrzej Sapkowski, featured in the collection *Sword of Destiny*. The narrative unfolds in a picturesque seaside village, setting the stage for a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. In a refreshing twist, Geralt finds himself tasked by a kingdom from the Continent to tackle these aquatic adversaries, diverging from his usual encounters with creatures like Basilisks and Cockatrices.

Voice acting fans will be thrilled to hear Doug Cockle return as Geralt, with Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprising their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer of Vengerberg, respectively. Adding to the ensemble is Christina Wren, known from the *Will Trent* TV series, who will voice the new character Essi Daven.

Andrzej Sapkowski, the mastermind behind *The Witcher* novels, serves as a creative consultant for the film. The screenplay is penned by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, familiar names from the live-action series, while Kang Hei Chul, who storyboarded *The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf*, takes the director's chair.

Takes Place During Season 1 of The Witcher’s Live-Adaptation Series

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Comes February

The storyline of *The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep* slots seamlessly between episodes 5 and 6 of *The Witcher* Season 1. Following the events of "Bottled Appetites," where Geralt and Yennefer reunite in the Redanian city of Rinde after liberating a Djinn, Geralt is summoned by a yet-to-be-named kingdom to address a monster-related issue on its shores.

Considering the geographical closeness of Rinde to the coastlines of Redania and Temeria, it's plausible that the film's setting lies between these regions. Specifically, if it adheres to the setting of "A Little Sacrifice," the action could unfold in Bremervoord City in Temeria, under the governance of Duke Agloval. Whether the film will closely follow the short story's plot remains to be seen, adding an extra layer of anticipation for fans.
