World of Warcraft: The War Within - Patch 11.1 Prologue and Dalaran Epilogue Guide

The narrative of World of Warcraft: The War Within continues to unfold. Beyond the Siren Isle update, Season 2 (anticipated later in 2025) promises new endgame content and the next chapter of this expansion. However, Patch 11.0.7 introduces several story quests crucial to Patch 11.1, focusing on the Goblin capital, Undermine. A separate questline concludes the tragic destruction of Dalaran.

Updated January 7, 2025: The recent campaign quests mark a significant turning point. Dalaran, a longstanding location in Warcraft lore, may never fully recover from the events of The War Within. The Dalaran Epilogue provides closure to this storyline and a fitting farewell to a pivotal social hub in Wrath of the Lich King and Legion.

How to Begin the Patch 11.1 Prologue ("Lingering Shadows" Campaign)

Unlike the Dalaran Epilogue, the "Lingering Shadows" campaign is immediately accessible. Completion of the leveling or Level 80 campaign isn't required, though prior completion is recommended to avoid spoilers and enhance understanding. The campaign comprises:

• Ringing in the Deeps

• Hey, What's Going On?

After "Found Friends," speak with Orweyna. While not part of the main campaign, her quest offers insights into potential future plot developments within The War Within or subsequent World Soul Saga expansions.

How to Begin the Dalaran Epilogue in World of Warcraft: The War Within

Initially, a three-week time gate restricted access to the Dalaran Epilogue. As of January 7th, 2025, this restriction has been lifted. However, you must complete both the leveling campaign and the Level 80 campaign (requiring Renown Four with all four Khaz'algar factions).

To verify completion, visit Foundation Hall (where Patch 11.1 prologue quests begin). If Khadgar is present (on or after January 7th), you can receive the initial quest. His absence indicates unfinished campaign quests.
