The U.S. Supreme Court unanimously rejected TikTok's final appeal, citing national security concerns related to data collection and its ties to a foreign adversary, despite acknowledging TikTok's popularity and expressive function for millions of Americans. The court's ruling emphasizes Congress's determination that divestiture is necessary.

While TikTok hopes for reinstatement under President Trump, a definitive timeline remains unclear. President Trump hinted at a potential 90-day delay to the ban, allowing time for a U.S. or allied buyer to acquire the app. This acquisition failure directly led to the ban. Concurrently, several apps linked to ByteDance, TikTok's parent company, including CapCut, Lemon8, and Marvel Snap, have also been deactivated.
