First shown at PlayStation's State of Play, the hack-and-slash action-adventure game Tides of Annihilation ignites anticipation with a new extended gameplay trailer. The trailer features protagonist Gwendolyn and her shape-shifting sword companion, Niniane, navigating the ruins of a post-apocalyptic London, ravaged by an Outworld invasion. Their journey through crumbling streets is constantly challenged by relentless enemies. Gwendolyn's unique ability to summon over ten legendary knights, inspired by King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, is a key element of survival.

After battling through hordes of enemies and traversing a magical portal, Gwendolyn and Niniane face a challenging boss fight against Mordred, a character with conflicting goals, setting the stage for an epic showdown. This intense boss battle highlights the game's dynamic combat system, underscored by a haunting choral score.

According to producer Kun Fu on PlayStation.Blog, the battle system offers "intuitive co-op combat within a single-player experience." Players can summon two spectral knights at a time, each with unique combat roles, demanding strategic decision-making. "The interplay between Gwendolyn and the knights creates a dynamic, fast-paced, and deeply engaging combat experience," Kun Fu explains, adding that the system was a favorite amongst the development team (veterans from leading game studios) during internal playtesting.
