As a fan myself, I am thrilled with this title. The stunning graphics, epic monster battles, beautifully crafted gear and weapons, and the delicious in-game food have all contributed to my enjoyment. Yes, the food is indeed a highlight—perhaps a bit too much so, as it keeps distracting me from the rest of the game's features! In this article, I will provide a brief overview of Monster Hunter Wilds and its system requirements.

What is the project about?

Let's not dwell on the story, which is quite clichéd and uninteresting. The Monster Hunter series isn't typically played for its narrative anyway. However, a notable change is that the protagonist can now speak, although the dialogue feels somewhat artificial, as if generated by AI. We'll have to endure this for the entirety of the six in-game chapters.

The real allure of Monster Hunter Wilds lies in its intense, thrilling battles with a variety of unique monsters. The protagonist, customizable as either male or female, embarks on an expedition to explore uncharted lands. This mission is spurred by the discovery of a child named Nata, found in the desert, indicating that these supposedly uninhabited regions may hold more secrets.

The storyline attempts to introduce dramatic elements, which can come across as somewhat absurd. The local inhabitants, who have not developed weapons over centuries, are baffled by the protagonist's use of them. Despite some improvements in the narrative structure and world-building, the story still doesn't hold up as a compelling, story-driven experience.

The game's campaign takes about 15-20 hours to complete. For those who prioritize freedom and hunting over the story, the narrative may feel more like an obstacle than a motivator. Fortunately, most dialogues and cutscenes can be skipped, which is a significant plus for players like me who prefer to focus on the action.

Hunting mechanics in Wilds have been simplified. When you hit a monster, visible wounds appear on its body. By holding the right buttons, you can destroy these wounds, dealing massive damage and causing parts of the monster to drop, which are now automatically collected. This convenience is a welcome change and deserves commendation.

New rideable pets, called Seikret, automatically run at maximum speed towards your hunting target or any point on the map. If you're knocked down, Seikret can quickly pick you up, saving you from lengthy recovery animations and potential devastating blows. This feature has been a lifesaver for me, especially in situations where my health was critically low.

Seikret's ability to automatically navigate to your destination eliminates the need to constantly check the map, enhancing the overall gameplay experience. Fast travel options are also available, making it easy to reach camp.

In Wilds, as in previous Monster Hunter games, there are no visible health bars for monsters. Instead, you must read their movements, animations, and sounds to gauge their damage level. However, your companion will now announce the monster's various states, adding a new layer of interaction.

Monsters in Wilds have learned to use the environment more strategically during battles, such as hiding in crevices or climbing ledges. Some creatures can even form packs, leading to intense multi-enemy encounters. But don't worry—there's always the option to call for backup, either from other players or NPCs, making these battles more manageable and enjoyable.
