Pokemon Scarlet & Violet 7-Star Quaquaval Tera Raid Counters

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 17,2025

Get ready for another challenging 7-Star Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, this time featuring the fiery Water/Fighting-type starter, Quaquaval! This isn't your average raid; Quaquaval packs a punch. To help you conquer this formidable foe, we've compiled the best counters and strategies.

Quaquaval’s Weaknesses & Resistances

Facing a 7-Star raid requires careful planning. Quaquaval's Water/Fighting typing means it's weak to Electric, Grass, Fairy, Flying, and Psychic-type moves. Crucially, its Water Tera Type during the raid makes Electric and Grass-type attacks particularly effective. However, remember Quaquaval resists Water, Fire, Ice, Dark, Rock, Bug, and Steel-type moves, so choose your Pokémon wisely.

Quaquaval’s Moveset

Quaquaval's moveset in this raid presents a significant challenge. Expect Aqua Step (Water), Brave Bird (Flying), Close Combat (Fighting), Feather Dance (Flying), Ice Spinner (Ice), and Mega Kick (Fighting). The inclusion of Flying-type moves adds a layer of complexity, disrupting strategies that solely rely on Grass-types. Ice Spinner, with its 100% accuracy and terrain removal, is especially troublesome, hindering any Pokémon benefiting from terrain effects. Furthermore, Feather Dance lowers Attack, while Moxie boosts Quaquaval's Attack after a knockout.

To overcome Quaquaval, consider these top counters: Eelektross, Miraidon, and Serperior. These Pokémon offer excellent type matchups and strategic advantages. Below are optimal builds for each:
