Switch 2 Super Mario Kart World Bundle

Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle

  • $499.99 at Best Buy

Opting for the Switch 2 bundle that includes Super Mario Kart World saves you $30 compared to buying the console and game separately. Keep in mind, though, this bundle comes with a digital copy, meaning no physical cart or game box. If you prefer a tangible game, you might want to spend the extra $30 on the standalone version.

Yes, the MSRP Is $79.99

When purchased by itself, Mario Kart World costs $79.99, which is $10 more than the standard price for AAA PlayStation and Xbox games this generation. While I'm not thrilled about price increases between console generations, I understand that modern games are more costly to produce. I'm optimistic that the scale and quality of Mario Kart World will justify the higher price tag.

What Is Mario Kart World?

Play

Mario Kart World is poised to be the most expansive Mario Kart game to date, featuring an open-world format reminiscent of the Forza Horizon series. In Grand Prix mode, you can seamlessly transition from one track to the next after completing a race.

The game's tracks are dynamically affected by weather and time of day, which can influence visibility and traction. You're not confined to the tracks either; you can venture off them to explore "virtually everywhere," as stated by Nintendo. Each race accommodates up to 24 drivers, surpassing the capacity of any previous Mario Kart game.

A fresh addition, Knockout Tour mode, challenges you to race across the open world, passing through checkpoints with specific placement requirements. Fall behind the required position at any checkpoint, and you're out of the race.

For a more relaxed experience, Free Roam mode lets you drive anywhere in the world, team up with friends, and even snap photos along the way.

More details about Mario Kart World will be unveiled during the Nintendo Direct on April 17. In the meantime, check out our hands-on preview for a deeper dive into what you can expect from this exciting new title.
