Mackenyu Arata from One Piece Voices Gennojo in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Mackenyu, renowned for his role in Netflix’s adaptation of the beloved anime One Piece, joins the cast of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft’s latest chapter in their iconic RPG franchise.

Famous for portraying Roronoa Zoro in One Piece, Mackenyu will voice Gennojo in both Japanese and English for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, a game set in Feudal Japan. Ubisoft describes Gennojo as a vital character who aids the protagonist in tracking and neutralizing a significant target.

“Gennojo is a charismatic yet troubled figure, driven by guilt to challenge a corrupt system. He’s a roguish charmer with a knack for deception, blending wit and boldness,” Ubisoft elaborated. “Fueled by a mission to dismantle injustice, Gennojo risks everything, yet his rugged demeanor hides a deep commitment to aiding the poor and elderly.”

While it’s unclear when players will encounter Gennojo, he is confirmed to play a significant role in the game’s missions. Mackenyu revealed that Gennojo belongs to the “Shinobi League” and can be recruited as a companion for the player’s journey.
