Warhorse Studios has exciting news for fans of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II* with the release of update 1.2, a substantial free patch that brings two highly anticipated features to the game: native mod integration via Steam Workshop and a brand-new barber shop system.

The integration with Steam Workshop revolutionizes the modding experience by allowing players to easily download and install mods directly within the game, removing the hassle of using third-party platforms. This feature hinges on mod creators uploading their content to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection of mods is modest, featuring a few notable additions such as:

  • Free Saving: This mod replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item every time it's used or lost, granting players unlimited saves.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a visually striking horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, allowing players to explore restricted story locations freely.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra, adding a unique visual flair to your journey.

While the current mod offerings are limited, the vibrant modding community is anticipated to grow quickly. With over a thousand mods already accessible on Nexus Mods, many creators are likely to share their work on both platforms. Though Steam Workshop might not match the scale of Nexus Mods, it's expected that popular mods will soon be available there.

Beyond mod support, update 1.2 introduces an exciting barber shop system. Players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to customize their hairstyle or beard design. Each visit to the barber not only enhances your appearance but also temporarily boosts the protagonist's Charisma stat, adding a strategic element to personal grooming.

The extensive changelog available on the game’s official website reveals that update 1.2 includes over a thousand fixes and improvements touching nearly every facet of the game. These enhancements range from balancing adjustments and refined animations to improved NPC behavior. For example, the crime system has been fine-tuned for more realistic interactions.

Other significant updates include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs, enhancing the realism of their routines.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and an improved horse trading system.
  • Better character visuals and overall performance, especially in Kuttenberg, the largest city in the game, and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios plans to provide more insights into these changes during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio's commitment to the game continues, with three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in the coming spring, summer, and winter.

With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and a wide array of gameplay enhancements, *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II* is set to offer an even more immersive medieval experience, keeping players engaged and excited for what's to come.
