It's worth noting that while *Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2* is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the public test server is exclusively accessible to PC players. If you're on a PC, accessing the test server is straightforward through Steam.

To join, simply navigate to your Steam library and locate *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2*. The public test server should appear just below the main game as a separate entry, but remember, you must own *Space Marine 2* on Steam to see this option. Once you find it, download and install the test server, which operates independently from the main game.

The *Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2* public test server introduces exciting new content for both PvE and PvP modes. You'll find new weapons, customization options, and a brand-new PvE map. The test server also features relaxed class restrictions on weapons, enhancing the gameplay experience. Keep in mind, the content on the test server is still in development and may undergo significant changes before its official release.

The online gameplay features have also been upgraded. The test server includes improved matchmaking for both PvE and PvP, with better team balancing to prevent multiple players of the same class from being on the same team. Additionally, the PvE mode comes with a new prestige leveling system, and the PvP mode offers enhanced lobby customization for a richer multiplayer experience.

If you have mods installed for *Space Marine 2*, they won't work on the public test server. Moreover, any custom content you create on the test server won't transfer to the main game, as the test server is a separate build. There's no official confirmation yet on whether progression or content from the test server will carry over to the main game, but it's not expected.
