InZOI Ditches Explicit Sex Scenes

The lead developers of the eagerly anticipated life simulation game, inZOI, recently fielded fan questions, stirring curiosity about the game's approach to sensitive topics. When queried about the inclusion of sexual intercourse, the assistant director offered a deliberately ambiguous response. Without directly mentioning "sex," the explanation left players puzzled. Essentially, it was suggested that if a male and female ZOI character were to go to bed together, the intent to create offspring would be implied, though the visual representation would be left to the player's imagination.

Perhaps that’s exactly what’s happening, but not at the level everyone expected.

This leaves it uncertain whether inZOI will handle the topic of sex with the same level of censorship seen in games like The Sims series or if it will introduce a novel approach.

Additionally, the developers shed light on why ZOIs shower while wearing towels, rather than using pixelated censorship. They explained that pixelation aligns better with cartoonish graphics, whereas in a game with realistic visuals like inZOI, it might come across as overly sexualized. Moreover, a technical glitch was mentioned where pixelated censorship failed to appear in mirror reflections when a naked ZOI approached.

In fact, much of the ambiguity around these topics is clarified by the game's ratings. inZOI has been rated T (for teens) by the ESRB and is expected to receive a PEGI 12 rating, aligning it with the ratings given to The Sims 4. These ratings provide a clearer picture of what players can expect in terms of content appropriateness.
