Locating Merchantburg (???)

After obtaining the ship from the King of Portoga (following the Black Pepper quest), Merchantburg is accessible. Its quest marker appears in the northeast corner of the world map. Sailing west from the coast will lead you to its easternmost edge on the eastern continent.

Optimal Timing for Merchantburg

While orb acquisition order is flexible, visiting Merchantburg early is recommended. Its growth requires time, so establishing it soon after getting the ship allows you to pursue other orbs concurrently.

Establishing Merchantburg and the Yellow Orb Acquisition

1. Hire a Merchant: Before heading to Merchantburg, hire a new merchant from PALS in Aliahan. Minimize combat en route to protect your new party member.

2. Founding the Town: In Merchantburg's single building, speak to the old man. He'll explain the need for a merchant to establish the town. Offer your newly hired merchant. The town will then be named after your merchant (e.g., Christopherburg if you named him Christopher).

3. Merchantburg's Growth: Collect the Purple (Orochi's Lair) and Blue (Gaia's Navel) Orbs. During this, you'll receive notifications about Merchantburg's growth. Return four times to witness its expansion, culminating in a large cabaret's construction. On your fourth visit, note the growing discontent among townsfolk towards your merchant.

4. The Revolt: On your fifth and final visit (at night), you'll find the merchant missing. He's been imprisoned in the house south of his former residence. Speak to him to learn the Yellow Orb's location.

5. Finding the Yellow Orb: Return to the merchant's house. A quest marker will appear behind the sofa. Interact with the ground to uncover the Yellow Orb.
