GTA Lead Designer's New Techno Spy Thriller: MindsEye Unveiled

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 22,2025

Leslie Benzies, the renowned former lead game designer behind iconic titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up to launch his highly anticipated game, MindsEye. The game recently showcased its latest visuals during the PlayStation State of Play, giving fans a glimpse into this thrilling high-tech spy adventure.

The newly released trailer for MindsEye highlights its striking similarities to the Grand Theft Auto series. It features intense third-person gunplay, sophisticated cinematics, and exhilarating drive-and-shoot sequences. You can experience the cinematic flair of the game by watching the trailer below.

PlayAs detailed in the official press release, *MindsEye* centers around protagonist Jacob Diaz, who is equipped with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This implant, however, has tampered with his memory, resulting in fragmented flashbacks of his military past. Driven by a quest to uncover the truth, Jacob embarks on a mission that pits him against an AI-powered military force determined to thwart his efforts.

MindsEye has been in the works for several years. After parting ways with Rockstar Games, Benzies established his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy, and collaborated with Hitman developer IO Interactive on this project. Marketed as a AAA action-adventure game, MindsEye is set to debut alongside the Everywhere platform, which we likened to a "Big budget Roblox" following a studio visit in 2024.

While the recent trailer did not touch on Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises to be an exhilarating new addition to the action game genre, crafted by one of its most celebrated figures. The game is slated for release in the summer of 2025.
