The game director of The Blood Of Dawnwalker explained why he quit CDPR and opened his own studio

Following the releases of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, not all CD Projekt RED veterans remained with the company. Some chose to pursue The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Recently revealed, The Blood of Dawnwalker is developed by Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by a CD Projekt RED veteran.

Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, explained his departure from CDPR:

He desired a change of pace and to collaborate with friends, leading to the creation of Rebel Wolves. Their shared passion for RPGs and their history fueled a desire to innovate and expand upon established RPG conventions. They conceived ambitious, unconventional ideas. Convincing a large corporation to embrace such novel concepts, particularly with new intellectual property, proved challenging. Therefore, establishing their own studio became necessary to realize their vision. This independent approach carries inherent risks, but it allows for a more agile and collaborative development process.

Unlike larger studios, Rebel Wolves prioritizes interpersonal relationships and open communication within its smaller team. This fosters a stronger shared vision and facilitates a more creative and efficient workflow. This close-knit environment makes realizing their unique creative vision significantly easier.
