FBC: Firebreak Release Date Announced for Remedy's Co-Op FPS in Control Universe

Author:Kristen Update:May 22,2025

Remedy Entertainment has set a release date of June 17, 2025, for their much-anticipated game, FBC: Firebreak. This new title is a session-based, multiplayer PvE experience that takes place within the immersive universe of Control. Players will dive into various missions, known as Jobs, each presenting unique challenges, objectives, and environments. Success in these missions will hinge on teamwork and the ability to adapt to changing situations.

FBC: Firebreak will launch on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5, priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Excitingly, it will be available on day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium). This marks Remedy's first venture into self-publishing, adding a new layer of excitement to the game's release.

Alongside the standard edition, Remedy unveiled the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, which comes with a higher price tag of $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This edition includes exclusive cosmetics and premium voice packs, such as "The Firestarter" and "The Pencil Pusher" voice packs, along with the Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves), a Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin, and the Golden Firebreak Spray. Additionally, it offers the Classified Requisition: "Firestarter," a comprehensive collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items, including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets. Owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for an additional $10 / €10 / £7.

The game introduces a new system called Requisitions, which allows players to earn new gear and cosmetics by simply playing the game. This system includes a variety of items such as weapons, equipment, armor, and sprays, all unlockable with in-game currency earned through gameplay. Importantly, there are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; any item added to the game will remain available. For those interested in further personalization, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items, purchasable with real money. These items are purely cosmetic and do not impact gameplay, ensuring a level playing field for all players.

Remedy has also committed to ongoing support for FBC: Firebreak post-launch, with plans to introduce two new Jobs in 2025 and additional updates in 2026. All new playable content, including Jobs, will be free for all players. While cosmetics can be purchased, they will not affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins, ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience for everyone.

This release is part of a busy schedule for Remedy, which is also working on Control 2 and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation, keeping fans eagerly awaiting more from this talented developer.
