Exclusive: Zenless Zone Zero Patch Cycle Duration Leaked

Zenless Zone Zero's Extended Patch Cycle: A Leak Reveals Future Updates

Recent leaks suggest a longer-than-anticipated patch cycle for Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ). Instead of following the pattern of other HoYoverse titles, which typically conclude their initial cycles around Version 1.6, ZZZ's current cycle is projected to extend to Version 1.7, followed by Version 2.0, then 2.8, and finally 3.0.

This revelation comes from reliable leaker, Flying Flame, indicating a more substantial content roadmap than initially anticipated. This extended cycle could significantly differentiate ZZZ from its sister titles, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, offering players a more extensive content experience. Further fueling this expectation is another leak from the same source: a planned roster expansion of 31 additional characters. With the current roster at 26 units, this represents a considerable increase in playable characters.

The news comes on the heels of the recently released Version 1.4 update, which introduced Hoshimi Miyabi, a powerful new unit. While Version 1.4 was generally well-received, it did encounter some initial criticism regarding potential censorship issues, swiftly addressed by the developers.

Players are currently anticipating the upcoming Version 1.5 update, slated to introduce two highly anticipated S-Rank units: Astra Yao and Evelyn. This update will also include a new main story chapter, a fresh area to explore, and various events. Leaks suggest Astra Yao will be a valuable support character, prompting players to begin farming necessary materials in advance.

While Version 1.7 remains some months away, the prospect of a significantly extended content cycle, coupled with the addition of numerous new characters, paints a promising future for Zenless Zone Zero. The game's successful first year, including a nomination for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards and a collaboration with McDonald's, further underscores its growing popularity and potential.
