Elden Ring Nightreign Testers Discover the Fell Omen Is Back via Morgott Jump-Scare Invasions

The Fell Omen bosses have become a notorious part of the Elden Ring experience, and with Elden Ring Nightreign, FromSoftware has unleashed them across the Lands Between in a thrilling new way. Morgott, a familiar adversary from the original game, continues to haunt players in Nightreign. Known for his surprise appearances in Elden Ring, Morgott's upgraded version, an unnamed Fell Omen, can now jump-scare invade players during their journey through Nightreign.

Morgott isn't the only boss capable of invading your squad in Nightreign, but he's particularly well-suited for the role. His sudden appearances echo his behavior in the original game, and in Nightreign, he comes equipped with new voice lines and additional moves to keep players on their toes. Given that players can team up with two friends, it's only fair that Morgott gets some new tricks up his sleeve.

Beyond his invasions, the Fell Omen can also serve as an end-of-night boss, challenging players in one of the concluding battles as the sun sets during the Elden Ring Nightreign test.

Early testers, including the renowned player Let Me Solo Her, faced off against the Fell Omen during the Elden Ring Nightreign sessions over the weekend. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising Morgott, Margit, or the Fell Omen as a formidable and engaging adversary. On the Elden Ring Nightreign subreddit, players have shared their favorite moments of Morgott's invasion mechanic, from encounters in elevators and towers to facing him as a night boss.

The unexpected invasions by the Fell Omen have sparked excitement about the potential for other enemies to suddenly appear and challenge players. For instance, the Pursuer from Dark Souls 2 has been mentioned as a fitting addition. Personally, the idea of Hunters from Bloodborne invading and targeting players is an enticing prospect, though it remains a distant hope.

There may be even more to the Fell Omen invasions than initially meets the eye. GamesRadar reported an instance where the Omen invasion resulted in the death of a co-op partner, leaving a curse mark on the fallen player. This adds another layer of intrigue and complexity to the game's mechanics.

Despite server issues during the first network test, a significant number of players managed to dive into the Lands Between over the weekend. The full release of Nightreign is eagerly anticipated on May 30. Until then, you can read our hands-on impressions of Elden Ring Nightreign for more insights.
