Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2

Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and accessible only via a destroyed bridge, presents a significant hurdle in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide details multiple methods to overcome this obstacle and continue your journey.

The Spirit Bridge Route

The remnants of a bridge northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice, offer a path to Bloodmoon Island. Using Spirit Vision reveals the broken segments. Crossing requires creative solutions:

  1. Gloves of Teleportation: These allow repeated teleporting across the gaps, albeit slowly.

  2. Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat enable teleporting, but party limitations may apply.

  3. Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids allow one character to cross using translocation, then the rest to teleport to their location.

  4. Fast Travel: A character with translocation can reach the Bloodmoon Island waypoint, allowing the rest of the party to fast travel.

The Ferryman's Gamble

An undead ferryman northwest of Cloisterwood offers a perilous passage. This method is particularly relevant for parties with Fane:

  • Fane's Immunity: Fane, being undead, is immune to the Deathfog. He can take the ferry alone, reach the waypoint, and allow the party to fast travel.

  • Without Fane: Two Teleporter Pyramids are needed. One character takes the ferry (dying in the process), the second pyramid teleports the rest to them, and resurrection spells revive the fallen companion.

Important Note: This ferry method is considerably riskier than the bridge route, especially without Fane. The bridge is generally the recommended approach for parties lacking Fane.

Avoiding Conflict with the Ferryman

Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman; he retaliates with a potentially lethal Deathfog spell. A quicksave before engaging is strongly advised. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP.
