Although Yetuga is your initial boss encounter in the game, don't be fooled into thinking it's an easy fight. After familiarizing yourself with the combat mechanics of *The First Berserker: Khazan*, you'll need to utilize every skill at your disposal to emerge victorious.

Yetuga is an aggressive adversary, relentlessly attacking when its territory is threatened, which you'll experience at the end of the Mount Heinmach level. Like other large beasts you've faced, Yetuga can unleash both long and short-range attacks, including a fearsome leaping slam.

Your strategy will depend on your playstyle, but mastering your dodges and parries will be crucial to minimize damage. Yetuga's arsenal includes:

  • A two-hit combo starting with a left-handed smash downward followed by a right-handed uppercut.
  • A four-hit combo consisting of horizontal swipes with either its left or right arm.
  • A powerful downward smash with both arms.
  • A leaping single-handed smash.
  • A jumping grab.
  • A charge attack.

Throughout the battle, you'll learn Yetuga's patterns, allowing you to strike between its attacks. Parrying, except for the jumping grab, can inflict significant Stamina damage on the boss. Use Yetuga's aggressive nature to your advantage. By dodging its charge and letting it crash into a wall, you'll create a brief window of vulnerability where you can land free hits. This is also an opportunity to break the ice spikes on its back, which will weaken its attack strength.

In the second phase, you can parry all of Yetuga's attacks except the grab, which will help conserve your Stamina. Keep the pressure on, and you'll soon trigger the next stage of the fight. When Yetuga roars and powers up, create some distance.

It will then grab a giant rock to smash towards you, so time your dodge or parry perfectly to avoid damage. Yetuga will also unleash a frost breath that forms ice spikes, so either move out of the way or parry the attack as it reaches you. Seize opportunities to use Potent Attacks, and when Yetuga is exhausted, unleash a Brutal Attack to deal significant damage and bring it down swiftly.

Upon defeating Yetuga, you'll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with some Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve.
