Catch Karrablast and Shelmet in the February Community Day of Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go enthusiasts, get ready for an exciting February Community Day on February 9th, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. This event shines the spotlight on two Pokémon: Karrablast and Shelmet. You'll have a higher chance of encountering them in the wild, and if you're lucky, you might even catch their Shiny versions. The highlight of the event is the evolution benefits. Evolve Karrablast during the event or up until February 16th at 10:00 p.m. local time, and you'll get an Escavalier that knows the Charged Attack Razor Shell. This move delivers 35 power in Trainer Battles and 55 power in Gyms and Raids. On the other hand, evolving Shelmet within the same timeframe will grant you an Accelgor with the Charged Attack Energy Ball, which boasts a strong 90 power in both Trainer Battles and Gyms and Raids.

The event also includes a Special Research questline, where you can encounter Karrablast and Shelmet with unique Dual Destiny-themed backgrounds, along with rewards like a Premium Battle Pass and a Rare Candy XL. Additionally, a Timed Research event extends a week after the main event, allowing you to log in and unlock tasks that offer encounters with these Pokémon, complete with the special backgrounds.

Don’t Forget the Bonuses

The February Community Day comes packed with enticing bonuses. You'll earn 3× XP for catching Pokémon, double the usual Candy, and a 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to get Candy XL from catches. Lure Modules and Incense (except Daily Adventure Incense) will last for three hours, and taking photos during the event might unveil a delightful surprise.
