Summary

  • Zombies in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will introduce a co-op pause feature in Season 2.
  • AFK Kick Loadout Recovery will enable players to rejoin with their original loadout.
  • Separate HUD presets for multiplayer and Zombies will enhance user experience.

Exciting updates are on the horizon for fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, as Season 2 promises to bring a host of new features. These updates come just in time for the new season, which is set to launch soon.

Since its debut over a decade ago in World at War, Zombies has remained a cornerstone of the Call of Duty franchise. In Black Ops 6, the beloved round-based Zombies mode returns with fresh, immersive locations, and the upcoming Season 2 aims to elevate the experience even further.

While multiplayer enthusiasts can expect numerous enhancements, Zombies players have much to look forward to as well. In addition to the new Tomb map, Season 2 will introduce several highly-requested features. One of the most anticipated additions is the co-op pause option, which allows players in the same party to pause the game together. This long-awaited feature will enhance teamwork and strategy, making those high-round runs even more enjoyable.

Call of Duty Reveals Black Ops 6 Zombies Changes for Season 2

  • Challenge Tracking & Near Completion (Zombies and Multiplayer)

    • Track up to 10 Calling Card Challenges and 10 Camo Challenges per mode for easy progress monitoring.
    • If fewer than 10 challenges are tracked, the system will display the nearest challenges to completion, helping players focus on finishing them.
    • Tracked or near-completion challenges appear in the Lobby and in-game via the Options Menu, providing seamless visibility.
  • Co-op Pause

    • In matches where all players are in the same party, the party leader can now pause the game, allowing everyone to regroup, strategize, or take a break. This feature, highly requested since launch, will be introduced in Season 2.
  • AFK Kick Loadout Recovery

    • If a player is kicked for being AFK in a co-op game, they can now rejoin and restore their original loadout. This feature aims to minimize frustration by ensuring players don't lose their weapons, perks, and points due to unexpected disconnections.
  • Separate HUD Presets for Zombies and Multiplayer

    • Players can now set up different HUD preset settings for Zombies and multiplayer, eliminating the need to adjust settings when switching between modes. Although delayed due to higher priorities, this feature will finally be available in Season 2.

Alongside the co-op pause, the "AFK Kick Loadout Recovery" feature will allow players who get booted for inactivity to rejoin and retain their original loadout. This is crucial for maintaining progression in Zombies runs, as losing weapons, perks, and points can be a major setback. This update aims to reduce player frustration caused by unexpected disconnections.

Moreover, players will be able to create separate HUD presets for multiplayer and Zombies, streamlining the user experience by removing the hassle of adjusting settings when switching modes. Additionally, the ability to manually track up to 10 Calling Card Challenges and Camo Challenges for both multiplayer and Zombies will make it easier to navigate and complete Black Ops 6's extensive challenge system.

Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled to launch on January 28, 2025.
