"Beloved Sims Character Debuts in The Sims 4"

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 21,2025

Attention all Sims enthusiasts: brace yourselves because the notorious Burglar is making a grand return to your virtual lives. As part of the latest update for The Sims 4, which is now available across PC and console, the infamous Robin Banks is back to challenge your home security.

Robin Banks, a name that evokes nostalgia for players of older Sims games, is known for her nocturnal escapades. She typically strikes under the cover of night, targeting homes when their residents are sound asleep. However, she's not above attempting a bold heist even when Sims are awake, so staying vigilant is key.

To fend off this crafty thief, your Sims can install a burglar alarm. Should Robin Banks trigger it, the police will arrive promptly to arrest her and retrieve any stolen items. If you don't have an alarm, you can still call the police, but you'll need to act fast. Alternatively, you might opt for a bit of vigilante justice—it's your choice.

While burglar events are designed to be rare, if you crave more excitement, you can activate the Lot Challenge Heist Havoc to increase your chances of a visit from Robin Banks.

"We are incredibly excited to reintroduce the Burglar to The Sims universe," shared The Sims' team. "A heartfelt thank you goes out to our entire team for bringing this vision to life. Robin Banks isn't just here to pilfer your Sims' possessions—she's ready to capture your hearts as well! What better way to celebrate The Sims' 25th Birthday than with this nostalgic yet refreshing addition? We can't wait to see the chaos Robin Banks will unleash in your households."

The Sims 4, now a decade old, along with the series celebrating its 25th anniversary, continues to thrive. Last year alone, it welcomed over 15 million new players. According to EA's Q2 earnings report from late last year, The Sims 4, which was initially a premium game, took four years to reach 20 million unique players. Its transition to free-to-play in 2022 saw an immediate surge, attracting 31 million new players and reaching a total of 85 million as of May 2024. And while fans eagerly await news, there are currently no plans for The Sims 5.
