Avowed Celebrates First Month with Major Update and Enhanced Features

Just one month after its release and Game Pass debut, Obsidian and Xbox Game Studios released a new trailer celebrating Avowed. The video highlights the overwhelmingly positive critical reception of this action-RPG, showcasing select reviews and quotes from gaming journalists.

This latest update delivers significant performance boosts thanks to the addition of DLSS 4, encompassing Multi-Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and DLAA. NVIDIA's testing shows a potential three-fold increase in frame rates at maximum 4K settings, reaching up to an impressive 340 FPS. Further announcements regarding future support and the game's roadmap are promised in the coming weeks.

Beyond the technical upgrades, this update enhances the player experience. Players now gain an extra talent point every five levels; existing players receive these retroactively upon game launch. Keyboard and mouse users gain the ability to toggle between walking and running, and a new accessibility feature allows for increased font sizes in in-game text, documents, and guides.

While Avowed didn't achieve universal, speechless praise, it still garnered strong reviews. Digital Foundry, for example, lauded the game as a technical triumph, further cementing its reputation as a remarkable achievement from Obsidian.
