El desarrollador de Path of Exile, Grinding Gear Games (GGG), ha emitido una disculpa a la ruta de los jugadores del exilio 1 por retrasar la actualización 3.26. La actualización, inicialmente programada para fines de octubre de 2024, luego a mediados de febrero de 2025, ha sido pospuesta indefinidamente debido a los desafíos imprevistos encontrados con el lanzamiento de Path of Exile 2.

GGG se había comprometido con el apoyo continuo para el camino del exilio 1 junto con la liberación de la ruta del exilio 2. Sin embargo, el camino del equipo del exilio 1 fue reasignado para ayudar con el desarrollo final del juego de Exilio 2 antes de su lanzamiento en diciembre de 2024. Si bien inicialmente cree que podrían regresar a la actualización 3.26 a tiempo para su objetivo de febrero, los numerosos problemas que afectan el camino del exilio 2, incluidos los bloqueos y los problemas de equilibrio, requirieron su continua participación.

En una dirección de video, Jonathan Rogers, director del juego de Path of Exile 2 y cofundador de GGG, reconoció el error de cálculo del estudio. Admitió haber sido "engañarnos" sobre la línea de tiempo y expresó su arrepentimiento por la decisión de retirar el camino del equipo del exilio 1. Dijo que la ruta de priorización de la estabilidad del Exilio 2 era el único curso de acción responsable dado el estado crítico del juego.

El lanzamiento de Path of Exile 2, aunque finalmente exitoso (convirtiéndose en el 15º juego más jugado en Steam), experimentó un lanzamiento retrasado e inestabilidad inicial.
