El emocionante thriller papal de Edward Berger, Conclave, cautivó al público el año pasado, revelando un aspecto raramente visto del catolicismo: la elección ceremonial de un nuevo papa. Mientras cardenales de todo el mundo se preparan para un cónclave real, la influencia de la película se hace evidente: varios líderes religiosos participantes, según los informes, han recurrido a la película para obtener orientación sobre el procedimiento.

En declaraciones al medio político Politico, un funcionario del Vaticano involucrado en los procedimientos del cónclave confirmó que la película de Berger—que presenta a Ralph Fiennes como el decano del Colegio de Cardenales—ha sido considerada "sorprendentemente precisa incluso por cardenales experimentados".
