GamesIndustry.biz podcast host Chris Dring, citing conversations with developers, revealed that developers have been advised not to expect a release before the current fiscal year ends (March 2025). Many developers reportedly hope for an April or May launch.

This projected timeframe might be a strategic move to avoid competing with major releases like the anticipated "GTA 6," rumored for a Fall 2025 launch.

Further fueling speculation, journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe hinted on the O X do Controle podcast (as reported by BGR) that a Switch 2 announcement could precede August's end. This aligns with Nintendo's stated intention to announce the successor before the end of the fiscal year (March 31, 2025). However, official confirmation remains pending. Nintendo has only confirmed an announcement will happen within the current fiscal year.
