Words With Friends by Zynga Adds Letter Lock

Zynga has introduced a fresh feature titled Letter Lock for its popular game Words With Friends. This new solo mode is something many players have been anticipating. Additional updates have also been released, so read on to discover all the details.

What Is Letter Lock in Words With Friends?

Letter Lock is a daily single-player puzzle. Rather than typing words as in Wordle, you shift columns of letters vertically. The aim is to form valid words in the designated entry row.

When you succeed, extra columns become available, enabling you to create longer terms. This process repeats until you reach the puzzle's target word length. Each wrong answer reduces your hearts, and losing too many concludes the puzzle immediately.

Although Letter Lock operates differently from Wordle, it offers a similar feel. Both provide brief, engaging daily word challenges. See Letter Lock in action with the trailer below.

Keeping the Gameplay Fresh and Engaging

According to Yaron Leyvand, Zynga's executive vice president of mobile games, this addition responds to feedback from dedicated players. Introducing new play styles helps maintain the game's vitality and expansion.

Besides the Letter Lock update, Zynga is launching a Spring into Words event. It includes numerous daily puzzles and trials. Solo players can enjoy modes like Guess Word and Crosswords. Spring-themed prizes, fresh Tile Styles, and exclusive events are also available.

Download the game from the Google Play Store if you love word challenges.
