Exclusive Chinese WoW Mounts: Blazing Royal Fire Hawk and Golden Ashes of Al'ar

Two new, exclusive mounts—the Blazing Royal Fire Hawk and the Golden Ashes of Al'ar—are coming to World of Warcraft China, starting January 15th. These stunning mounts are reimagined versions of the incredibly rare Pureblood Fire Hawk and Ashes of Al'ar, respectively.

These mounts are rewards tied to specific promotional events within WoW China. The Blazing Royal Fire Hawk, a visually updated Pureblood Fire Hawk, boasts auspicious clouds within its wings while in flight, a nod to Chinese symbolism. The Golden Ashes of Al'ar, a gilded variant of the original, features a sleek black saddle and evocative flavor text referencing Kael'thas Sunstrider's iconic line: "The golden Al'ar, beloved pet of Kael'thas Sunstrider, proves that death is merely a setback."

Acquisition Details:

The Blazing Royal Fire Hawk is obtainable through a promotional event called the "Treasure Workshop," the specifics of which are yet to be fully revealed. The Golden Ashes of Al'ar, however, is acquired from Landro's Loot Box, a ¥200 (approximately $27 USD) crate containing one of eight possible items. Other coveted rewards within the loot box include the X-51 Nether Rocket X-TREME and the extremely rare Swift Spectral Tiger (from the discontinued WoW TCG). Group purchases offer bonus crates based on spending thresholds.

Regional Exclusivity:

Currently, there's no indication that these mounts will be released internationally. While not impossible, players outside of China will, for now, have to appreciate these unique additions to the WoW universe from afar. The return of WoW to China, following the renewed partnership between NetEase and Blizzard, has already seen other exclusive content, such as the Lighforged Gorehowl statue and the Xiao Liu pet, further highlighting the celebration of the game's return in the region.
