Vay Remastered: Classic JRPG Revived for Android

SoMoGa Inc. has released a stunningly updated version of Vay for Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG has been resurrected with modern visuals, a streamlined user interface, and controller support.

Originally launched in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized for the US by Working Designs), Vay received an iOS re-release by SoMoGa in 2008. This latest iteration builds upon that legacy.

What's New in the Revamped Vay?

Prepare for an adventure featuring over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is the adjustable difficulty, catering to various play styles.

The updated Vay includes an auto-save function for added convenience and Bluetooth controller support for personalized gameplay. Players can acquire new equipment and items, unlock spells through character leveling, and utilize an AI system for autonomous character combat.

The Story:

Set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war, Vay unfolds on a technologically underdeveloped planet after a catastrophic machine crash-lands. This self-destructing machine, its guidance system malfunctioning, wreaked havoc, leaving devastation in its wake.

Players take on the role of a protagonist whose peaceful kingdom is attacked on his wedding day, resulting in his bride's abduction. The ensuing epic quest to rescue his wife and potentially save the world begins immediately.

Vay's compelling narrative blends nostalgic charm with modern enhancements. True to its JRPG roots, characters gain experience and gold through random encounters. The game boasts nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes with both English and Japanese audio options.
