Uno! Mobile and other titles receive Beyond Color update

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 21,2025

Mattel163, the mobile game developer, has launched a significant accessibility update called "Beyond Colors" across three popular card game titles: Phase 10: World Tour, Uno! Mobile, and Skip-Bo Mobile. This update introduces colorblind-friendly decks, replacing traditional colors with easily distinguishable shapes. Squares, triangles, circles, and stars now represent the colors typically found in these games, ensuring a more inclusive gameplay experience for colorblind individuals.

Enabling the Beyond Colors deck is simple. Just tap your in-game avatar, navigate to your account settings, and select the "Beyond Colors" deck under card theme options. This thoughtful addition reflects Mattel163's commitment to making its games accessible to a broader audience. Considering that approximately 300 million people worldwide experience colorblindness (according to the Cleveland Clinic), this update significantly expands the player base.

The development of these inclusive decks involved collaboration with gamers, including those with colorblindness, ensuring the chosen symbols are intuitive and consistent across all three games. Mattel163 has also announced an ambitious goal: to make 80% of its game portfolio colorblind-accessible by 2025.

For those unfamiliar, Uno! Mobile offers the classic card-matching gameplay on mobile devices. Phase 10: World Tour challenges players to complete phases as quickly as possible, while Skip-Bo provides a unique twist on solitaire. All three games—Uno! Mobile, Skip-Bo Mobile, and Phase 10: World Tour—are available for download on the App Store and Google Play.
