A powerful new attachment in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is boosting the effectiveness of several weapons, but obtaining and using it isn't straightforward. This guide explains how to unlock and equip the Buffer Weight Stock.

Unlike most attachments earned through gameplay progression, the Buffer Weight Stock is unlocked via the in-game "The Hit List" event. Access the "Event" tab in the Black Ops 6 Multiplayer main menu. Locate the "Community" section within the event; the Buffer Weight Stock will be listed there, and simply viewing this page unlocks it for your account.

The Hit List event unlocks items based on community-wide eliminations. The Buffer Weight Stock was the first reward, unlocked after eight billion eliminations—a milestone already surpassed. Therefore, all players need to do is visit the event page to claim it. However, equipping it presents a different challenge.

The Buffer Weight Stock's Compatibility

Unfortunately, the Buffer Weight Stock's functionality is limited to three specific weapons: the XM4 Assault Rifle, the DM-10 Marksman Rifle, and the XMG Light Machine Gun. This restriction prevents the attachment from becoming ubiquitous and dominating gameplay. Despite this limitation, its significant accuracy boost makes it highly valuable on these compatible weapons.

Equipping the Attachment

Adding the Buffer Weight Stock to a compatible weapon is simple. Navigate to the Gunsmith, select the desired weapon (XM4, DM-10, or XMG), and choose the Stock attachment slot. The Buffer Weight Stock will be available for selection.
