Unleash the Power: Best Redwing Decks Dominate Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap's avian additions are few and far between, limited to Cosmo, Groose, Zabu, and Hit Monkey—until now. Redwing, Falcon's loyal companion, joins the roster as part of the Brave New World season.

Redwing's Mechanics in Marvel Snap

Redwing is a 3-cost, 4-power card with a unique ability: The first time it's moved, it adds a card from your hand to its previous location.

However, there are significant limitations: Redwing's ability is one-time use only. Strategies involving Symbiote Spider-Man or returning it to hand for reuse won't work. Precise card targeting with Redwing is also challenging. Move decks often feature low-cost cards (like Iron Fist) you'd rather avoid, while Scream decks typically manipulate opponent's cards, not your own.

Despite these drawbacks, budget-friendly movement options exist for lower Collection Level players, such as Madame Web or Cloak. Redwing's potential for surprise victories lies in deploying a Galactus early or retrieving powerful cards like The Infinaut.

Optimal Redwing Decks (Day One)

Ares and Surtur dominated the previous season, and a new Scream-based build incorporating Aero and Heimdall is emerging. Redwing surprisingly fits, although playing Surtur on turn 3 remains the priority. This deck, however, is expensive, requiring several Series 5 cards: Hydra Bob, Scream, Redwing, Surtur, Ares, and Cull Obsidian. Hydra Bob can be substituted with a 1-cost card like Rocket Raccoon or Iceman, but the others are crucial.

The strategy centers on turn 3 Surtur deployment, followed by high-power cards to boost its strength. Scream provides an alternative win condition by stealing power. Polaris, Aero, and Magneto offer "push" capabilities, while Redwing can be moved to Heimdall, buffing Surtur and drawing a high-power card.

Another potential Redwing deck incorporates Madame Web, as Dagger's nerf has diminished move-based decks. Madame Web's Ongoing ability complements current Ongoing-style decks, offering a potential niche for Redwing:

This deck relies heavily on Doom 2099, aiming for rapid power distribution. Madame Web aids in managing power overflow, and provides an alternative way to move Sam Wilson's shield. Redwing's activation is limited to Madame Web, making it less essential. The late-game strategy involves Doctor Doom or Spectrum for power distribution or a decisive power spike.

Is Redwing Worth Investing In?

Currently, no. Redwing is considered underpowered and relies on a weak archetype. Saving resources for future cards is recommended unless significant buffs are implemented.
