The origin and authenticity of the cinematic remain unconfirmed officially. It was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for leaking gaming content. Weber hinted that more videos from Project U could surface if the game continues to be in development for an extended period.

Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, taking inspiration from the success of Helldivers 2. The leaked footage suggests that the game's narrative centers around an alien machine invasion of Earth, with players stepping into the shoes of chosen individuals tasked with combating this extraterrestrial threat.

As of now, Ubisoft has not provided any official word on when they plan to formally announce Project U.
