Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will arrive in Call of Duty

Activision has revealed a new crossover event for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone, bringing back the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This isn't the first time these heroes have graced an Activision shooter.

While specifics regarding the crossover's content and launch date ("soon") remain undisclosed by the developers, the CODWarfareForum website offers some unverified details.

Rumored additions include operator skins for all four turtles (though the absence of April O'Neil, Master Splinter, and Shredder is noted). New melee weapons and finishers are also anticipated: a skateboard, katana, nunchucks, and a staff. The Grind map, a skatepark, is expected to be a central location for the crossover events.

Despite the announcement, fan reaction has been muted. This isn't due to a lack of popularity for the TMNT franchise, but rather stems from the current troubled state of Black Ops Cold War. The game's prevalence of bugs and cheaters has significantly diminished its player base, leading to concerns that this collaboration feels like a last-ditch effort to revitalize a struggling title. The long-term success (or even continuation) of this crossover remains uncertain.
