Team Ninja Teases 30th Anniversary Plans

Team Ninja Celebrates 30 Years with Ambitious Plans for 2025

Koei Tecmo's Team Ninja studio is gearing up for its 30th anniversary in 2025, promising significant releases. Known for iconic franchises like Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, Team Ninja has also expanded its portfolio with successful soulslike RPGs such as the Nioh series and collaborations with Square Enix (Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty). The studio's recent PlayStation 5 exclusive, Rise of the Ronin, further solidified its reputation for critically acclaimed action RPGs.

Team Ninja's Fumihiko Yasuda hinted at exciting anniversary plans, stating a desire to release titles "fitting for the occasion." While details remain scarce, speculation centers on potential new entries in the Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden franchises.

Potential 2025 Releases:

The anticipation is already high, fueled by the recent announcement of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound at The Game Awards 2024. This side-scrolling title aims to recapture the classic 8-bit era gameplay while incorporating modern elements, bridging the gap between the series' past and its 3D iterations. This follows the divisive 2014 release, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.

The future of the Dead or Alive franchise remains uncertain. While the last mainline entry, Dead or Alive 6, launched in 2019, fans eagerly await a new installment, hoping the anniversary will mark its return. The Nioh series is another strong contender for a potential sequel or expansion, given its popularity.

Team Ninja's 30th anniversary promises a year of significant releases, potentially revitalizing beloved franchises and introducing new titles worthy of the studio's legacy. The coming year will undoubtedly be a pivotal one for Team Ninja and its dedicated fanbase.
